Karema & Lamont met August 2006 via a mutual friend. Never in their wildest dreams did they imagine such an eventful life together! Lamont took on the role of (step) daddy to Janaya (2005) and the relationship blossomed. Lamont proposed December 26, 2007, and they immediately started planning their big wedding.

But one month into their active wedding planning at Jericho Terrace, a little embryo decided to make an appearance. The wedding that was planned for April 11, 2009, quickly came to a halt. Instead, Lamont & Karema decided to prepare for a marriage to start their family instead of just a wedding. They had an intimate wedding ceremony at Holiday Inn Jamaica, NY on July 20, 2008, with a small circle of family members. It wasn't your typical fantasy wedding but it brought them so much joy to finally be one! Shortly thereafter the embryo was a bouncing Brianna (2008).

Three years later, Karema was back on a mission for her big dream wedding. This time she was wanted to do it cruise style for their 5 year wedding anniversary! That plan didn't pan out either; more kids popped into the picture. God blessed them with Lamont Jr (2011) then Leah (2012). Parenting and keeping a home for their children became of the utmost importance.

Through all this joy there were some hard times; marriage isn't easy especially when you're young! But despite the hard times, they conquered it TOGETHER! They fought the good fight of in sickness and in health, through the good and the bad, and with tears and smiles they persevered. They accomplished the goal of buying their first home together and bringing one more daughter into the world Jada in 2018.

Lamont & Karema have checked off a good amount of their to-do list and year 15 is on the horizon. So you know what that means -- Karema is back on the prowl of planning their day.. FINALLY! There will be no more kids coming so the coast is officially clear!

In a world that's filled with so many challenges it's a great accomplishment for two young kids married at 23 to make it 15 years married. If you know Lamont and/or Karema even a little bit, you know with their strong personalities (maybe more Karema than Lamont) it wasn't a easy road, so a celebration it's going to be indeed.
